Manual Operation Instructions:
For the Failure Close(FC) - Side Mount Manual Actuator (SM Series), the manual operation process should follow the steps below:
①After connecting the valve to the pneumatic actuator, manual operation is the first step. Firstly, close the air supply to ensure safety. Then, unscrew the black locating screw on the clutch to prepare for switching between manual and pneumatic modes. Occasionally, the handle may jam when switching from "Pneumatic" to "Manual" position, usually due to improper gear engagement. In this case, rotate the handwheel back and forth until the handle smoothly switches to the "Manual" position. After switching, be sure to tighten the black locating screw to ensure the stability of manual operation.
②Once in manual control mode, use the handwheel to control the valve's open/close status.
- Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to open the valve (OPEN).
- Turn the handwheel clockwise to close the valve (CLOSE).
During this process, carefully verify that the manual actuator's working status matches the actual valve status to prevent misoperations.
③After confirming error-free manual operation, prepare for pneumatic operation. Firstly, rotate the handwheel clockwise to fully close the valve, ensuring the toggle nut is not under stress, providing a solid foundation for pneumatic operation. Then, unscrew the black locating screw on the clutch again to switch the handle from the "Manual" to the "Pneumatic" position. Similarly, during the switching process, if the handle jams, repeat rotating the handwheel until the handle smoothly switches to the "Pneumatic" position. After switching, tighten the black locating screw again to ensure the stability of pneumatic operation. Finally, turn on the air supply, and the valve enters pneumatic control mode.
Throughout the entire operation process, strictly follow the steps to ensure accuracy and safety. Additionally, regularly inspect and maintain the actuator to ensure its long-term stable operation.
